The "Amanda"- Agbara!

Agbara is a Yoruba word that means strong, forceful. The "Amanda" head wrap is named after my paternal Great-Grandmother. She passed before I was born. Since I was a child, my father has always told me stories about her, and she was a force to be reckoned with.

Amanda was a no nonsense, strong willed, no tolerating of bull$hit kind of woman. She owned property in Macon, Georgia. Where she grew and sold tobacco. Amanda took care of her family and handled her business.

When I saw the red, yellow, and orange in this fabric I thought of fire. It's heat and it's strength- agbara. Amanda was agbara! I wish for every women that wears this head wrap to strut down the street and proudly proclaim their agbara

*This is Amanda's Great-Great Grand Daughter modeling the head wrap.
